Ms. Yisi Cao is a senior Chinese language educator at the United Nations International School (UNIS) in New York , where she also leads the Arabic, Chinese, and Japanese Language Teams. With over twelve years of experience in international Chinese language education and curriculum development, she brings a wealth of expertise in multilingual instruction and cross-cultural academic leadership.

Ms. Cao is deeply committed to differentiated, multi-level instruction, with extensive experience teaching a broad spectrum of learners—from beginners to advanced students—in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Chinese A and B programs. She is particularly skilled at designing structured, engaging curricula that address the diverse linguistic backgrounds and goals of her students.

In her leadership role, Ms. Cao exemplifies collaborative and innovative curriculum design. She actively cultivates interdisciplinary dialogue and builds bridges across language departments to foster cross-linguistic instructional strategies. Her leadership promotes a reflective teaching culture that values continuous growth and pedagogical excellence. After completing the Instructional Coaching certificate program at the University of Pennsylvania, she has taken on a greater role in faculty development, supporting colleagues through mentoring and enhancing instructional effectiveness across UNIS.
